This New Zealand book explores ideas of manhood and rites of passage held by boys. It provides advice on how boys can be helped to successfully negotiate adolescence and become good men. The book also identifies points of difference within boys' schools, with the aim of helping parents to decide whether a co-educational or single sex school might best suit their son. The material in the book is drawn from three-day visits to 25 (single sex) boys' secondary schools throughout New Zealand. During these visits the author held conversations with staff and management and with as wide and diverse a range of students as possible. |
