In 2012, a team of EIT researchers evaluated and reported on the effectiveness of DOVE services. The research included a narrative inquiry with DOVE service users in relation to their experiences of domestic violence. The emergent themes from the collected narratives are varied and include harsh and abusive experiences as well as those of despondency and regret. There are also themes that speak of poignant memories, spirituality, and transforming changes. These themes serve as signposts for transformative social work practice." (Author's abstract)
