520 _aThe aim of this report is to share the experience of the West 5: 4 Trauma schools and the learning that they have made in developing a model that they believe goes a long way to ensuring young primary age students have a successful education pathway. The schools involved also acknowledge that there is far more learning to do. COVID-19 was a significant factor across the entire period of this action research project and most definitely had an impact on the ability of schools to influence the outcomes that they wanted to for all students. However, with every challenge there are silver linings. The learning that COVID-19 the lockdowns and restrictions involved created have been invaluable in helping develop a more robust model that supports whanau as well as students. (From the report).
