520 _aThe Interim report describes the key themes and common issues from the experiences shared with the Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry (Royal Commission) by survivors and witnesses. The name Tāwharautia is a word that implies providing shelter or care whether physical, emotional or spiritual. Tāwharautia has two volumes. Volume One outlines the Royal Commission's work to date and how they have approached it, and analyses the key themes and common issues from the experiences shared with the Royal Commission by survivors and witnesses; Volume Two (#6942) is devoted to the voices of survivors. It shares survivors’ stories about their experiences of abuse in care. Tāwharautia is published in several formats including pdf, large text, and html. A version in New Zealand Sign Language, Easy Read and te reo Māori will be available in the next few weeks. Alongside Tāwharautia the Royal Commission has published three research reports. These are the Cohort Study (and a peer review of it) (#6943), the Economic Cost of Abuse report (#6944) (commissioned from MartinJenkins) and a Research Report (#6945) looking at the number of people in care, and the extent of abuse in care. Follow the website link for alternative formats, research reports and more information about this ongoing Royal Commission of Inquiry. Record #6941
