520 | _aThe Ministry of Health (MOH) Violence Intervention Programme (VIP) seeks to reduce and prevent the health impacts of family violence and abuse through early identification, assessment and referral of victims presenting to designated District Health Board (DHB) services. The Ministry of Health-funded national resources support a comprehensive, systems approach to addressing family violence, particularly intimate partner violence (IPV) and child abuse and neglect (CAN). This report documents the results of four work streams for the 2015 VIP Programme Evaluation. These are: (1) DHB Delphi self audits of programme inputs (system infrastructure) assessed against criteria for an ideal programme; (2) VIP Snapshot clinical audits (outputs) in six services to measure programme service delivery; (3) assessment of VIP self audit findings and programme implementation within DHBs; and, (4) description of DHB submissions of Model for Improvement Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles. This report provides Government, the Ministry, DHBs and service users with information and accountability data on family violence intervention programme implementation. VIP contributes towards the NZ Government’s cross-government work programme to reduce family and sexual violence,3 the NZ Government’s Delivering Better Public Services, Supporting Vulnerable Children Result Action Plan, and the Ministry’s Statement of Intent 2014 to 2018.
