520 _aIn this document the Home Office (UK) sets out what local areas need to put in place to ensure their response to VAWG issues is as collaborative, robust and effective as it can be so that all victims and survivors can get the help they need. The VAWG strategy is clear about the outcomes UK government wants to achieve by 2020; a reduction in the prevalence of all forms of VAWG, matched by increases in reporting, police referrals, prosecution and convictions for what can still be hidden crimes. This document should be read in conjunction with "Ending violence against women and girls strategy: 2016-2020" (5285) published by the UK government in March 2016 and the companion document "Supporting local commissioning" (#5284). Access the website for more information about this strategy and for accessible documents. Record #5283
