520 _aChildhood sexual abuse can have significant short- and long-term effects, including the development of borderline personality disorder.  The purpose of this report is to provide an evidence-based guide on the association between childhood sexual abuse and borderline personality disorder as an adult. These findings will be used to assist in the decision making process regarding cover and entitlements of those who have experienced childhood sexual abuse and later developed borderline personality disorder.  A literature search was conducted in November 2015 using Ovid MEDLINE(R) In-Process & Other Non-Indexed Citations, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, PsycINFO, and the Worldwide Web.
