520 _aThis report details research undertaken in the Australian state of Tasmania, where police attended over 2000 family and domestic violence incidents between July 2014 and May 2015, and over 1,200 children were present at these incidents. These figures only reflect incidents attended by police and so the actual number of incidents is likely to be much higher. This research initially set out to develop and test a best practice model of education to raise men’s awareness of the impact of family violence on their children. Early in the research it became apparent that there was little documented best evidence available on which to base such a program, and that relatively few programs had been comprehensively evaluated. The main vehicle for engagement was a series of “World Café” style events held in Ulverstone, Launceston and Hobart. A total of 72 individuals working in the health and community services sector in government, non-government and private sector organisations participated in these events. (From the executive summary). Record #5066
