520 _aThis action plan for the Western Pacific recommends immediate and sustainable steps to reduce high national burdens of violence and injuries and highlights the importance of intersectoral partnership. The plan outlines strategic actions and establishes regional targets to be achieved by 2020. The plan has four objectives and a number of specific actions for Member States and WHO, guided by a set of indicators. Major causes of death in the region include road traffic injuries (33%), falls (14%), drowning (8%), poisoning (4%), interpersonal violence (4%) and burns (2%) (Annex 2).
