In doing so, it draws on national and international research and best-practice examples, and proposes a model for sexual offence restorative justice conferencing. The suggested framework contains an oversight body; victim and offender specialists; an expert assessment panel; important gatekeepers at different stages of the criminal justice system; entry and exist points; and proposes a two stage approach for determining appropriate cases for restorative justice conferencing.
