| 520 | _aThe Family Violence Interagency Response System (FVIARS) is an interagency initiative designed to more effectively manage cases of family violence reported to the Police. A key objective of FVIARS is to enable collaborative, coordinated interagency responses to family violence. Key elements of the model are regular interagency meetings to assess risk of reported cases of family violence, plan responses and monitor cases. This report summarises the evaluation of the Family Violence Interagency Response System (FVIARS). The evaluation of FVIARS examined the development, implementation and progress towards outcomes of FVIARS in four FVIARS sites: Kaikohe, Takapuna, Manurewa and Dunedin. The evaluation period was from the inception of FVIARS at the sites to June 2009. The main evaluation objectives were to understand the short-term and long-term impact of FVIARS, identify site-specific variations and report on issues of practical value to its implementation.
