520 _aThe purpose of this book is to develop risk indicators for mentally disordered individuals committing acts of violence. The book is addressed to researchers in mental health law, clinicians who face questions of violence risk, and to lawyers, judges and mental health professionals who have to deal with violence risk issues in specific cases and more generally in public policy. The authors categorise risk factors for violence into four domains: dispositional, clinical, historical and contextual factors. The book is structured into parts dealing with these domains. It concludes with an example of how these risk factors can be integrated into a risk assessment research methodology.
