520 _a"Harman International partnered with the Family Violence Prevention Fund (FVPF) to implement a comprehensive internal response to domestic violence. The primary goal of the program was to increase Harman employees' and management's awareness of domestic violence and supportive workplace responses, leading in turn to increased opportunities for safety and well-being. The Domestic Violence Prevention Project was developed and implemented during the period from September, 2001 to January, 2003. The Project included the following actions: The development and implementation of a domestic violence policy with accompanying guidelines for human resource departments and managers. The development of regional planning committees to assess the needs of all of the domestic facilities and to implement the policy and training. The creation of teams of internal and external co-trainers who participated in regional Train-the-Trainers prior to beginning training, using selected domestic violence trainers from community organizations near each facility as external experts. The delivery of training on domestic violence and the policy to employees and managers at all of their domestic facilities. The distribution of resource information, safety cards, and posters throughout the domestic facilities. An opportunity for each facility to develop additional activities. Several began employee volunteerism projects supporting local domestic violence agencies."--PROJECT SUMMARY
