520 | _aThis is one of a series of reports produced by Raranga Whatumanawa (The weaving of the heart patterns), a research project undertaken by the Psychology Clinic at Massey University, in conjunction with the Psychology Centre in Hamilton, to investigate the mental health assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and outcomes resulting from sexual abuse. The research was funded by the Accident Compensation Corporation of New Zealand (ACC) and contributes to the development of useable national practice guidelines. This particular report is a review of the measures available in the research literature for monitoring therapeutic progress and outcomes for child, adolescent and adult survivors of sexual abuse/assault. The authors argue that this review should not be considered an exhaustive account of the outcome instruments available. The review is presented in three parts: a brief preliminary review of a selection of measures is undertaken first, followed by a more in-depth review of a number of instruments. Lastly a conceptual schema of the types of measures practitioners may want to integrate into their practice is presented. The report contributed to the creation of Sexual Abuse and Mental Injury: Practice Guidelines for Aotearoa New Zealand. Please do not cite or quote this technical report without permission. | ||
