520 _aThis short report presents the results of the first six month's work of the Wellington Sexual Abuse Network Education Project to identify and assess sexual violence prevention initiatives taking place in New Zealand and internationally. The education project is focused on the prevention of sexual violence between peers. This report provides key findings from the project categorised into three areas: understanding 'primary prevention'; problems with some current approaches; and approaches that may work that we need to learn more about. New ideas presented in the report include concepts of healthy and ethical sexual relating. These add to the gender and power analyses that have formed the basis of rape prevention initiatives over the last three decades.
