520 _aIn this article the authors highlight the dangers for social workers when intervening in families where domestic violence is a factor. They describe their experience of reviewing cases that feature domestic violence and discuss a workshop approach they developed for the purpose of enhancing case management and learning. The workshop later formed the basis for a training model that was used at various sites of the Children, Young Persons and Their Families Service where domestic violence was present in cases. Suggested applications for the workshop approach are discussed.
