520 _aThis journal article focuses on two conditions often associated with exposure to abuse and neglect; post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and borderline personality disorder (BPD). PTSD is more prevalent in child welfare and juvenile justice populations. Composite case examples are provided to illustrate the ways in which young people with these problems may present to Child, Youth and Family (CYF). The authors review the diagnostic criteria for these conditions and discuss some of the issues practitioners encounter when working with young clients presenting with these conditions. Recommendations are provided for obtaining treatment.
