520 _aThis article reports the intermediate results of a study of the experiences of families of youth who have sexually abused and who are involved with specialist therapeutic intervention services. The focus of the article is on the impact of abuse disclosure or discovery on the abusing youth's parents, and on their resulting support needs. The author argues that recognition of parental needs is essential in a holistic family-oriented approach to treatment and calls for support for further research in this area.
