The author argues that the Children, Young Persons and Their Families Act (1989) does not take into account children's concepts of time and/or cultural concepts of time, but rather the Act focuses on the time frames dynamics of the justice system. The results of a survey on the experiences of Family Court workers are given within the article and recommendations for improving help for the child client are also suggested.
