Summary: This DVD is aimed at inspiring and motivating Māori parents and whānau to interact with their children in a positive way that celebrates their identity and strengthens their connection to their whānau, hapū and iwi. It features interviews with a selected group of Māori parents, in both te reo Māori and English. They give their perspectives on how topics such as whakapapa, whānau, waiata, and mirimiri support them and their children's learning and development. The DVD is a training resource tool used as part of the Parents as First Teachers (PAFT) and Family Start in-home visiting programmes. It provides a Māori perspective to follow on from the "Good Morning" clips that were released on the Parenting for Early Learning DVD in 2007. The DVD comes with notes on the sleeve on how to use it, discussion topics, a photo gallery and posters to be used as visual aids when discussing various topics in the DVD. The people who appear on the DVD are: Lower Hutt Kaumatua of seven grandchildren and parents to four - Bruce Aranga (Tūhoe) and Beryl Aranga (Ngāti Porou), Dad of three - Jay Love (Te Whānau o Tūtekohi) and his daughter Mourei Aroha Maniapoto-Love, Newtown, Wellington, Mum of three- Lana Simmons-Donaldson (Ngāti Porou) and her son Benjamin Donaldson, Wanganui Dad of three - Pahia Turia (Ngāti Apa, Ngā Rauru me Te Ātihaunui a Papārangi) and his whāngai son Tawhana i te Rangi Ngataki-McCrath, Titahi Bay, Porirua Nana of three and Mum to five - Vicky Ellison (Ngāti Raukawa and her mokopuna Davida Skelton and Tu Kaha Bevan-Akavi.
