The research design consisted of a Māori-centred approach, drawing strongly from Kaupapa Māori theory and principles, using qualitative methods. It presents the author’s research journey and discusses the practical tasks involved in doing research, as encouragement and support for other Māori practitioners thinking about doing a Master of Social Work.
