This is the first time that Aotearoa New Zealand has had a Women’s Health Strategy. It sets long-term priorities which will guide the health system progress towards equity and healthy futures for women.  Our vision is pae ora – healthy futures – for women. All women will live longer in good health, have improved wellbeing and quality of life, and be part of healthy, and resilient whānau and communities, within healthy environments that sustain their health and wellbeing.  There will be equitable health outcomes for wāhine Māori, which is a commitment under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.  There will also be equity of health outcomes between men and women, and between all groups of women. (From the website). Related health strategies released in July 2023, under the Labour-led government, include: The New Zealand Health Strategy; Pae Tū: Hauora Māori Strategy; Te Mana Ola: The Pacific Health Strategy; The Health of Disabled People Strategy (Provisional) and The Rural Health Strategy. Links to these strategies are available on the website.
