The importance of this manual is that it consolidates the experiences and skills that have been accumulated throughout past trainings into a tool that provides the required information needed for a skilled trainer to conduct trainings on Masculinities and Engaging Men. Furthermore, this manual is the first contextual and culturally validated tool, which has been revised, based on feedback provided in the countries where it has been used. Based on extensive experience in the domain of Engaging Men and Masculinities in the MENA region, ABAAD determined there was a pressing need to work toward a society in which attributes, behaviours and roles associated with boys and men were transformed to promote gender equity. This need prompted ABAAD to develop this manual in both Arabic and English, to be used by facilitators working to engage men and boys in the quest for gender equality. It also provides tools to work with men on a personal level in order to redefine and question their attitudes towards women and their gender roles. (From the introduction). This manual may be useful when working with migrants and refugees from the Middle East or North Africa. Record #5981 UR - http://www.abaadmena.org/documents/ebook.1538129644.pdf ER -
