It will be useful for: Commissioners, providing a practical guide to commissioning VAWG services; and Service providers, to understand how to meet commissioners’ needs. The purpose of this toolkit is to ensure that professionals can work together to provide an effective commissioning approach to anyone affected by any form of VAWG. VAWG covers a range of unacceptable and deeply distressing crimes, including domestic violence and abuse, sexual violence and child sexual abuse, stalking, so called ‘honour-based’ violence – including forced marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM), gang related violence, and human trafficking. This toolkit is focused on commissioning services in England. For services in Wales, see: Tackling Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence: A collaborative commissioning toolkit for services in Wales which has been developed to reflect the specific context in Wales. This document should be read in conjunction with "Ending violence against women and girls strategy: 2016-2020" (5285) published by the UK government in March 2016 and the companion document "VAWG: national statement of expectations" (#5283). Access the website for more information about this strategy and for accessible documents.
