This is one of five Cabinet papers that either address family violence or have a family violence component to be considered by the Cabinet Social Policy (SOC) on 18 June 2014.

The other papers that are also being considered by SOC are:·
• Family violence: achieving intergenerational change, from Associate Minister for Social Development. 
• A Stronger Response to Domestic Violence, which proposes action areas to improve justice outcomes for victims, from the Minister of Justice.
• Progressing Sentencing (Electronic Monitoring) Amendment Bill, from Minister of Corrections.
• Whole-of-Government Action Plan to Reduce the Harms caused by New Zealand Adult Gangs and International Crime Groups, from the Minister of Police. (Not released)
