N2  - This letter reports the results of a retrospective audit performed in the Emergency Department of Waikato Hospital. This audit  led to the introduction of a scald assessment triage tool and increased education sessions. The Department was then re-audited at a later date to see if the changes had affected admission practice. This research is presented as a letter to the NZMJ
