N2  - These guidelines have been prepared for providers of domestic violence programmes contracted to the Ministry of Justice. Their purpose is to outline the monitoring and assessment processes that will be followed by the Ministry's quality assurance process, and to provide an information resource for providers. The guidelines reflect the requirements of the following legislation:  Domestic Violence Act 1996 and the Domestic Violence (Programmes) Regulations 1996. This guidelines document replaces the "Quality Assurance Guidines" also referred to as the "DVA provider handbbok" published by the Department for Courts in February 2003. The current guidelines will be available on the Ministry of Justice website.
