The literature review begins with the history of child sexual abuse and an overview of developments that led to abuse-focused therapy. Chapter 2 includes recent understandings of the biological, psychological, social and generational effects of child sexual abuse to inform stakeholders of the necessity for specific abuse-focused therapy. The final two chapters are based on the views of therapists, and these sections discuss effective practice with women survivors of child sexual abuse. Chapter 3 explores the philosophical approach to this form of therapy, and the fourth chapter provides an overview of the therapy process. Limitations are discussed in this report ER -
