The authors recommend that improvements be made in the collection of data on sexual violence as current figures significantly under-represent the reality of the sexual violence. Other recommendations include raising awareness in culturally appropriate ways, increasing funding towards prevention campaigns, and working with young people to ensure they understand what is and is not acceptable behaviour
