The research was funded by the Accident Compensation Corporation of New Zealand (ACC) and contributes to the development of useable national practice guidelines. This particular report provides an analysis of ACC archived sensitive claims files where counselling was received between January 2003 and November 2004. A sample of 125 files was selected from a pool of 3,228 cases. The files sampled were predominantly those of adult females, although 32 were child or youth files. The majority of cases were of childhood sexual abuse or sexual assault. An analysis of key case features is conducted and their findings summarised. The implications of these are discussed, along with recommendations for future research. The limitations of the sample are also discussed. This volume contains two reports- 2a and 2b.Please do not cite or quote this Technical report without permission. ER -
