The booklet includes a case study followed by a discussion of the issues that emerge from the incident described, such as being drunk when the abuse or rape happened. Suggestions are listed for accessing help and for supporting friends who have experienced sexual abuse or rape. The authors present a range of possibilities in relation to what might happen to an abuser when abuse is disclosed; this includes situations of whānau meetings to resolve issues and prosecution not proceeding through lack of evidence.
