N2  - The report is based on data collected by Standing Together Against Domestic Violence (a trust that coordinates a multi-agency response to domestic violence). Standing Together used questionnaires with support agencies who attended the court with their clients. In addition, the report drew on 17 witness comment leaflets filled out by witnesses (that is, primary victims) at the court. These witnesses (16 female and 1 male) also discussed their experiences of the court with an independent consultant. Findings of the research include: the Specialist Domestic Violence Court has a positive impact on the witnesses' experience of court; witnesses were provided with adequate support prior to the court date; pre trial visits are helpful but not always possible; witnesses felt safe at West London Magistrate's court; and independent domestic violence advisor support is  important after the court date.The report also presents additional comments from independent domestic violence advisors and witness service workers at the Specialist Domestic Violence Court. In addition to operational findings for Standing Together Against Domestic Violence, the author recommends all agencies need to offer pre trial visits and special measures at different stages in the process; pre trial visits should be offered to all; and witnesses need contact with the Police to make sure they have access to all of the services on offer
