The paper explores some of the developments leading to the emergence of models that allow women and child victims of domestic violence to remain in their homes. The paper examines early models and the development of integrated models, the NSW pilots and the re-moulding of some older models. The paper provides a timely examination of some of the broader and most common issues emerging across the models, as they are being developed. Finally, the paper discusses some of the critical issues to be addressed if these models are to progress and keep women and children safe in their homes.
