The author discusses adolescent female perpetrators and identifies a study currently undertaken in Christchurch in this area. The article examines placement options for young offenders and suggests that limited options and resources can lead to indiscriminate placements characterised by a lack of planning. This author suggests further research to be carried out in the field of adolescent sexual offending as there is little New Zealand theoretical and practice-based research, and New Zealand treatment programmes are presently informed by international literature UR - http://ndhadeliver.natlib.govt.nz/delivery/DeliveryManagerServlet?dps_pid=IE3282244 ER -
