Ninety-two women, aged between 17 and 66 years participated in this study; women attending individual programmes constituted 27 of the participants, while 65 women attended group programmes. Data analysis was conducted on the assessment information of clients who attended the Women's Living Without Violence Programme in Christchurch from January 2004 to October 2005. Theories of aggression are explored in an attempt to understand the dynamics of female violence. The findings of the study present discussions about parental history of domestic violence, and the participants' histories of sexual abuse, intimate partner abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, and depression UR - http://ndhadeliver.natlib.govt.nz/delivery/DeliveryManagerServlet?dps_pid=IE3282336 ER -
