The study involved five case studies in communities following disasters. The research found a significant increase in agencies' work with domestic violence cases in the months following natural disasters. Women's Refuge consistently had the largest increases. The author concludes that both government emergency planners and family violence support agencies need to factor an increase in domestic violence after natural disasters into their work UR - http://www.uncrd.or.jp/pub/rdd/rdd30_1_contents_and_editorial_introduction.pdf ER -
