This manual describes some of the theory and provides some practical ideas for talking to men about issues that men rarely discuss - rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment, domestic violence, dating abuse, stalking, pornography, and prostitution. Although women make up the majority of people who are victimized by these crimes and men are the majority of perpetrators, both women and men are victimized, and both women and men can be perpetrators. That being said, the forms of violence discussed in this book are clearly gendered.

The purpose of this manual is to offer tools on how to talk with men about sexist violence The tools it describes have a theoretical foundation, and so this manual provides an overview of the theories that are important in developing educational programs for men. The majority of the readers are likely to be women and this manual is written with that in mind, but written so that both male and female educators, activists, and advocates will find practical information for thinking about and planning to effectively work with men.
