Response published August 2020. Original report published February 2020.
This response outlines actions Oranga Tamariki - Ministry for Children has taken, partnerships it has made with iwi and Māori organisations, and lists actions where work is still required.
Background: At the National Iwi Chairs Forum in February 2020, the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency report’s findings and recommendations (#6523) were accepted by Minister for Children, Hon. Tracey Martin. She then directed Oranga Tamariki to map current actions required to deliver support to strengthen whānau so that the need for children to be taken into care, is reduced. Follow the links to the appendix to the Oranga Tamariki response and the original report. Record #6797
