Summary, etc This report sets out the findings of the qualitative review of social worker caseload, casework and workload management. The review was commissioned by the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Social Development and led by the Office of the Chief Social Worker of Child, Youth and Family. The review involved extensive frontline staff participation and was undertaken in partnership with the New Zealand Public Service Association (PSA).<br/>The review asked:<br/>- Are we working with the right cases and in the right timeframes to improve outcomes for New Zealand’s most vulnerable children and young people?<br/>- Do we have the right tools and resources to enable us to meet the current demand for our service and to deliver quality social work practice?<br/>The review identified key areas for change and improvement in systems and practice. It aimed to deliver better quality social work that makes a positive difference to the lives of our most vulnerable children and young people. (from the Executive summary).
