"This document describes best practice guidelines within Aotearoa New Zealand for professionals from all disciplines providing therapeutic services to people who have experienced sexual abuse. These are also referred to as the Massey gudelines. Through the sensitive claims process ACC makes counsellling available to children and adults who have sustained "mental injury" as a result of sexual abuse (see Appendix 1 for notes about terminology). These guidelines were designed specifically for ACC providers, although they are relevant to practice, regardless of whether such services are being delivered under an ACC entitlement."
