520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc This article critically examines the psychological evidence on the various issues of forgotten or repressed memories of childhood abuse, with an emphasis on childhood sexual abuse. The issue of whether forgetting occurs, whether memories are 'repressed', and whether fake memories are possible, is discussed. The evidence for whether false memories are produced in therapy and therapists use of memory recovery techniques is also critically examined. The question of whether psychologists can assist in criminal trials is briefly covered.
