This paper examines how pursuing a broad protection agenda eclipses work with and for women and girls in crises. We argue that by focusing broadly on protection without meaningfully
incorporating analyses of gender and power, protection actors fail to understand and meet the needs of vulnerable women and girls. This paper seeks to generate discussion about how to
