The Ministry of Justice provides a free information programme for parents called Parenting Through Separation. A resource pack supporting this programme is available. This consists of a brochure about the course (also available in Māori, Fijian, Kiribati, Niuean, Samoan, Tokelauan, Tongan and Tuvaluan from the website), seven booklets and two DVDs. The individual resources are:
Putting your children first - Parents' guide to caring for children after separation; Parenting plans - Parents' guide to making plans for their children after separation; What happens when our parents break up: - Children's guide to family separation; How the Family Court works for you - Children's guide to the Family Court; What happens to us when our parents separate? - Teenagers' guide to family separation; How the Family Court works for you - Teeenagers' guide to the Family Court. The two DVDs are: Parenting through separation, and Kids talk about separation. These are catalogued separately and available for loan. The pack can be requested from the Ministry of Justice website.
