This report is a summary of the findings and conclusions of research that was conducted to provide information for Strategies with Kids - Information for Parents (SKIP), a government parenting strategy. In this executive summary, the author provides a synopsis of the factors that influence Maori and Pacific peoples' approaches to parenting, and the reasons why parents choose to use, or not use, physical discipline. A brief discussion on the fundamentals of the SKIP strategy is also included.
