This resource provides accessible online information about legal rights and obligations relevant to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, takatapui, fa’afafine, queer and intersex people. It is hoped that this resource will provide a practical guide to some specific issues of interest, as well as outlining general legal information. There is little point in reinventing the wheel, so where more detailed information is freely available this resource provides an outline of that area and links to other sites and sources where more information can be found. In particular, there is a useful glossary of terms available from the Legal Services Agency's Law Access website at http://www.lawaccess.lsa.govt.nz The resource contains a short section on domestic violence including a case study of Dan and Jason where Dan is an abusive partner. See 2.3 Domestic Violence beginning on p. 22. A glossary of sexual orientation and gender identity terms is attached as an appendix to this resource.
