Mansell responds to Munro's (2006) critique concerning the issue of risk-screening trade-off in child protection systems. (See: "Response to: 'Stabilisation of the Statutory Child Protection Response'".) The author imparts that the biggest challenge is not in developing the understanding and technical ability to measure and manage the risk-screening trade-off; rather it is applying these tools in an emotionally charged and therefore difficult social context.
