This letter to the journal editor points out the imperative nurses have to advocate for children at risk. The author notes the difficult aspects of this for public health nurses, in terms of ethical responsibilities and a desire to maintain relationships with the child's parents. The author considers making accurate risk assessments of the risk factors for the child and the family is key to successfully managing such situations.
