Prepared by the author for the Family Violence Unit (DSW) as part of the placement requirements for the MA (Applied) in Social Science Research from Victoria University of Wellington.
This report contains the results of an extensive information gathering exercise. It contains a review of existing family violence in New Zealand in the form of an annotated bibliography. It provides a summary of research in this area which is currently underway or planned and an outline of some of the priorities for future research work. As family violence research is a growing field, an investigation of this nature becomes dated very quickly. Recommendations are therefore included on ways of keeping this information up-to-date.
