This article provides information on the definition of child prostitution and places it in the context of a demand by men for having sex with young people. It discusses the damaging effects on children and looks at issues of immaturity and choice around sex for young people. Data is presented on incidence of child prostitution in New Zealand and various findings of an ECPAT (End Child Prostitution and Trafficking) survey.
