Questionnaires were used as the primary method to obtain information from 34 Family Court judges. More detailed personal interviews were conducted with 3 judges, who all saw the need for more judicial education, especially relating to interviewing children. The differencing opinions of the judges regarding children's participation in Family Court processes are linked to the independent nature of the judges' role
